New Posts Coming in January 2015

The response to this site was overwhelming in 2014, both from readers and authors.

Being authors ourselves, we got caught up trying to finish our own work and basically stopped posting new features in May. However, we are returning in January of 2015 with more new posts every Tuesday and Friday. We'll also try offering more of the authors you already love, as well as some giveaways, interviews, and some audiobooks.

In the meantime, we are still posting occasionally to the Facebook site and to Twitter. We thank you for a marvelous year and for visiting this page. We hope it introduced you to some new work.

I love SciFi romance, and this series is interesting. This is the first book and deals with the initial revolt of the cyborgs. It's steamy, but also delves into the man vs machine question. TO CATCH HER DEATH by Boone Brux

If anyone would have told me five years ago that I would be caught up in books featuring Grim Reaper characters, I would have given them the "Are you crazy?" look. Now I'm enamored of these unique paranormal characters. Lisa pulled me in and I felt like I was developing right along with her. The only thing I hated about this book was that I did not want it to end. Thanks for the frustration, Boone Brux. Where's the next one? ~ DM

Me, Lisa Carron. If being a depressed, frumpy, widowed mother of three wasn't bad enough, I just found out I'm a grim reaper. I know what you're thinking. Wow, that's kind of sexy and full of awesomeness. Hardly. Oh, and my clients? Stupid people. Like I don't get enough of that from the living.

Since Alaska is big and angels of death are few, I've been partnered with reaper extraordinaire, Nate Cramer. He's strong, silent, and way too good looking for my recently widowed state. Oh, and he reaps violent criminals, so that should be interesting.

Forget the danger and the hours of self-analysis it will take for me to find my reaper mojo. My biggest problem? Hiding it all from my overly attentive family and nosy neighbors. Now that's going to take a miracle.

STORM'S HEART by Thea Harrison

I loved Dragos, the Dragon, in Book 1. However, I found Tiago, the Thunderbird, to be equally sexy and memorable. Maybe it was because he was mythological and unlike any shifter I had read about before. Rarely does a character seem invincible, but this hero came across to me as absolutely unshakeable.  ~ DM

Please Read This Information Before Submitting A Title To Us 

 

At this time we are not seeking any YA or NA titles for features. New Adult might be an okay fit, but these titles will be reviewed on a case by case basis.  Some of the excerpts on this site have some graphic language and some mild sex scenes, such as touching or kissing. Though we take reasonable precautions to keep the content above a R rating, none of the features on this site are suitable for young YA readers. 

If You Write PARANORMAL EROTIC ROMANCE, 

Please Read This Information Before Submitting A Title To Us  

Covers and excerpts must support the Risky Readers site in striving to maintain a PG13/R rating, BUT also remember that readers may purchase this book based on this feature. This means that we hope the covers, blurbs, and excerpts fairly represent the title being featured. We want as many readers as possible to feel comfortable browsing this site to find new paranormal romances to read. 

At time time, we have adopted a middle-of-the road acceptance policy. This means we are not featuring titles with menage covers and excerpts, and we are not willing to feature books with non-consensual sex scenes of any sort even those that end well.

If you want to be featured here, please offer us titles that are "middle-of-road" in terms of language and explicitness so we can promote your writing and work alongside the rest of our authors. Lots of RR authors write many different heat levels. We link to your author website in your article. Readers that choose to do so will be able to click the link and see the full range of your work on your site.

We hate saying no to featuring books because of content or covers, but we are learning to say it when we think we can't promote a book fairly.

Other Considerations 

 

Books submitted to Risky Readers should adhere to minimal good writing practices such as being professionally edited. They also must be available for sale or download on at least two standard sales sites commonly used by readers, such as Amazon, B&N, Apple, Kobo, Smashwords, ARe, etc.

Tell us 2-3 paranormal romance sub-genre labels you might want for your title (such as Werewolves and Time Travel). Please look at some of the titles and see how it works. Click your potential label to see what shows up in that search.

After we check out your book, we will get back to you about what we need to put together the feature. We look forward to featuring your work (our readers do too).
